“ Little Pete's is a Philly mainstay that I'm so glad to have discovered this year. I've been here a few times at this point, so I can summarize the good and the bad. The good starts off with the service. If Christina is your server, consider yourself lucky. She's awesome. The cocktails at Little Pete's are good and strong. As far as the food goes, the fried seafood is the highlight. The fried shrimp, flounder, and scallops are outstanding. I consider myself a shrimp connoisseur, and the shrimp here and big and juicy and perfectly fried. As far as appetizers go, the chicken fingers are my favorite. They are more like small chicken cutlets than "fingers". They are always fried well, and you will get enough to take a couple home. As far as sides go, you can get a good salad and good roasted potatoes or a baked potato. The potato salad is middle of the road. The cakes are bakery quality. The carrot cake and the chocolate cake are my favorites. They don't skimp on the size of the slices. Now that I've talked about the good, there are a couple of missteps that prevent me from giving Little Pete's five stars. The optional bread service is hit or miss. Sometimes the bread is better than at other times. The crab cake is nothing but filler. And the mac & cheese is simply macaroni with melted cheese poured on top. I really don't understand what the kitchen is doing when it comes to the mac & cheese. As long as you stick to the items I have highlighted, you will have a great meal at Little Pete's. The menu is extensive and I will be back to sample more of it. I wish there were more old school diners done well like Little Pete's. ”

“ I was looking for a quick breakfast for my last day in Philadelphia, and I found Little Pete's conveniently right near the Museum of Art. I walked in and got seated right away. The crowd runs older, but it was a lively atmosphere. The server was friendly and no-nonsense. I ordered the eggs and scrapple which came with home fries and toast. I hadn't tried scrapple before, but she told me it was a Philly Philly thing, so i decided to give it a go. Because it's vacation, I also had a screwdriver on the side (yes, they have a full bar!) The food arrived, and the portions were generous. The scrapple was fried golden brown and was crispy on the outside. The seasoning was really good, but the texture inside was a little mushy like a patè (it's kindof like a sausage made with ground pork scraps, spices and cornmeal). To be honest, it wasn't my favorite breakfast protein, but I am glad I had the opportunity to try it. The potatoes were a little dry and the eggs were cooked well. Overall, breakfast was a good experience here. The pricing was reasonable for both the food and drinks, and the location makes it a good place to eat before seeing the art museum and the Rocky steps. ”

“ Stopped by on Monday and got the Sausage and Eggs special for 12.95 which I think is great value. I mean just look at the sheer amount they pile on. Comes with coffee as well. Taste wise, typical diner fare, pretty decent. Service is as expected, very quick and reasonably friendly. Not too much seating but wasn't busy on a Monday. Great place all around. (come for the specials) ”
